Get the Look – Working a Double Shift

Working a Double Shift September Blog

This month I have chosen a classic colour combo – black & silver. It goes with just about everything and never goes out of style. As the accent to this fabulous colour block shift dress it just can’t be beaten.

Weather warming up? I turn to dresses to keep me cool, calm and collected. I love ALL sorts –  dresses, frocks, maxis, shifts and dirndls! Pop them on and your outfit is done. No mixing and matching required. As the weather heats up I particularly like shift dresses. Not voluminous ones that you get lost in, threaten Marilyn moments or make you look larger than you really are. Ones that are loose enough to be cool but fitted enough to enhance your shape.

Taking centre stage in this production is a black and green chiffon block shift dress. Keep the relationship casual with flat black sandals, a  fun large tote and iconic Rayban Aviators or ask  for a full commitment with lace and suede stilettos, jewelled clutch and killer cosmetics.

That was easy, now for the fun part! Accessories!

This dress has a boat neckline which, just checking my ‘Necklaces for Necklines’ cheat sheet, tells me I am looking for long beads.

On the casual side of things, Numinous fits the bill, or rather, the neck, perfectly. Long silver chain, glossy black glass beads and a fabulous floral crucifix pendant. Team it with matching rose studs and a dainty linked bracelet and you’re ready for the day.

Ready to ramp it up?

Now, I know I said boat neckline = long beads but I just don’t find they make quite the statement we are after in a full commitment type outfit. So, please turn your attention to Vampire Huntress. Killer, isn’t she?

Armed with extra Silvered Spikes and an Ink ring, you won’t have to ask twice!

Keeping it casual? Coffee or lunch date. Ready for more? It says cocktails and clubs to me but that part is entirely up to you!
